Thelma Schoonmaker In Conversation at QFT

On 21 November 2023, film legend Thelma Schoonmaker visited QFT to take part in a screen talk, hosted by friend and film scholar Ian Christie, following a screening of Raging Bull.

Editor of Raging Bull and widow of Michael Powell, Thelma Schoonmaker has collaborated with Martin Scorsese for over five decades, editing over 20 of his features. She has cited Raging Bull as her favourite film in their long collaboration. This talk explores the origins of their working relationship, and the lasting legacy of a cinema classic.
